Cat Nap Music Camp 2023!

🐈 😴 🎵⛺️

Monday, July 3 – Thursday, July 6

We’re excited to announce the launch of our 4th Cat Nap Music Camp. The camp has been extended by an extra day this year and we’ll be joined by two-time BC fiddle champion Michael Burnyeat!

Pack your instruments and swimsuit for 4 days of musical fun and outdoor activities with friends and family! We’ll have music and tune workshops run by Rosie and the Michaels as well as open workshops where Cat Nappers can teach their favourite tune. We’ll have daily trad sessions hosted by Rosie and the Michaels with lots of opportunity for Cat Nappers to lead sets as well. Our Cat Nap Ceilidh was a big hit last year and camp will wrap up with a Cat Nap Camp Concert Thursday afternoon!

  • Participants should have a basic proficiency on their instrument(s)
  • The music that we focus on is Celtic, predominantly Irish with Scottish, Canadiana & Quebecois as well!
  • Typical instruments at our camp are:
fiddle, flute, pennywhistles, mandolin, accordion, tenor banjo, guitar and bodhran
  • Tunes are taught by ear and if needed, sheet music will be available at the end of the camp

For those that enjoy the outdoors, there’ll be plenty of time for swimming, paddling and hiking too! Feel free to partake in any or all of the scheduled activities or just hang out on the deck, the dock, the beach, your cabin or the fireside and jam with your friends.

If you’ve not been before, be sure to check out the highlight videos from previous years including last year’s Ceilidh on our NEW website!

All meals, accommodations, music workshops and outdoor activities are included in the Registration fee.

We look forward to seeing you there!
